Application of Ozone in Aquaculture
Ozone is the most ideal bactericide in aquaculture and nursery production. Applying ozone technology to purify nursery water sources can effectively sterilize and disinfect the water, decompose water pollutants, increase dissolved oxygen levels in the water, and avoid secondary pollution to the aquatic environment.
It plays a significant role in preventing aquatic biological diseases (e.g., in fish, shrimp, river crabs, and soft-shelled turtles) and improving the ecological environment of aquaculture. Through ozone sterilization devices, it is possible to disinfect biological eggs, sanitize aquaculture water, and sterilize equipment and facilities. This not only prevents pathogen invasion but also alters the intestinal microecological environment of fry, reducing the number of parasitic bacteria in their intestines and thereby decreasing nutrient consumption by the fry.
Additionally, ozone enhances the activity of amylase secreted by beneficial bacteria, improving the utilization rate of nutrients in feed by fry. The use of ozone in aquaculture can boost the survival rate of fry, promote their growth, increase yields, and simultaneously prevent water quality deterioration and pollution of pond bottoms.
